The Mega Coaches (Rocky Romero & Ryusuke Taguchi) (3-0) vs BULLET CLUB (El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori) (2-1)

The Mega Coaches have a difficult week in the league; unlike other teams in the pool, Romero and Taguchi are wrestling two matches back to back this week, and doing so against two top teams, ending in the IWGP Junior Tag Team Champions here tonight. Giving them extra impetus, however is a win last night over the team that beat the champs, El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru.

If there’s one of the two BULLET CLUB members that Romero and Taguchi may feel confident against, it’s ELP. During Best of the Super Juniors, first Romero and then, in the final group match, Taguchi managed to defeat Phantasmo. This would earn each man British Cruiserweight Championship matches this past June, and while both men came up short, they have to know that ELP is beatable. 

Taguchi meanwhile, is likely still ruing his New Beginning challenge to Taiji Ishimori early in 2019, and will be eager for revenge. At the end of the day, though, this is a tag league and not a singles one and after early communication issues, the Mega Coaches have to be a well oiled machine if they want to give the champions a run for their money.
