Hiroshima to see major singles action on Road to Dontaku

Los Ingobernables De Japon meet the United Empire in Hiroshima singles bouts

The Road to Dontaku will see major events all through the month of April across Japan, capped off on May 3 & 4 with the tour finale in Fukuoka. On April 26, the action will hit Hiroshima’s Sun Plaza Hall, with a pair of major singles matches highlighting the card.

The main event in Hiroshima will see Tetsuya Naito face Great-O-Khan. In the first round of the New Japan Cup, O-Khan defeated Tetsuya Naito in what was a landmark victory for the Dominator. Forcing a stoppage from the referee as he wrenched at Naito’s knee, O-Khan instantly put himself on the map of heavyweight contenders, and wasn’t done punishing El Ingobernable. Sunday at Saura Genesis, a post match assault saw Naito’s knee struck repeatedly with vicious chair shots from O-Khan. Naito would respond by demanding a singles match against O-Khan; can he get revenge in front of his adopted home town crowd of Hiroshima?

Also on April 26, Aaron Henare will go one on one with SANADA. At Sakura Genesis, the former Toa Henare began a new era for himself in the United Empire as their much anticipated ‘X’. With a refocused in ring style that leaned heavily into his Muay Thai roots, and a new found confidence and aggression, Henare defeated SANADA with a Death Valley Driver like finish he calls the Streets of Rage. Will he force Cold Skull to walk those same streets in Hiroshima? Will a new environment bring new results for the ‘Ultimate Weapon’?

These are just two matches on a stacked card on the Road to Wrestling Dontaku, all live on NJPW World on April 26!
