Giulia moves to fifth defence
Saturday October 28 saw Giulia look for another defence of the STRONG Women’s Championship at Fighting Spirit Unleashed in Las Vegas opposite HYAN.
Giulia drank in the chants of the Vegas crowd before locking up with HYAN, taking the early advantage as her challenger struggled from underneath. A tackle from HYAN and a knee to the mid section opened the door for a side suplex that got two, but the champion responded with a hard single legged dropkick and a missile dropkick for a nearfall of her own.
Giulia had designs on the Glorious Driver early; HYAN worked free at the five minute mark but a DDT and STF sent the challenger crawling for the ropes. Using her position to leverage Giulia to the floor, HYAN found an opening with a tope suicida, and despite eating a double arm suplex off the top, responded with a big falcon arrow as the match continued.
A powerbomb created a very near two for the challenger at the ten minute mark, and HYAN kept standing up in the face of Giulia’s repeated elbows, landing a spear for yet another near fall. A backdrop suplex, shining knee and the Northern Lights Bomb however, and Giulia moved to V5. Confronted backstage by Trish Adora of the NJPW Academy though, the champion’s work is far from done.
