Non title in Kagoshima?
Before the action got underway in Korakuen Hall on the Road to Dontaku April 23, a contract signing in theory saw SHO and DOUKI put pen to paper ahead of their Satsuma no Kuni IWGP Junior Heavyweight title match April 29.
Never far from the other members of HOUSE OF TORTURE, SHO brought EVIL and Dick Togo to the ring for the contract signing. DOUKI, who has held SHO’s physical IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship belt ever since Sakura Genesis stated he would only allow SHO his property back if the contract was signed with no issues.
SHO took faux offense at DOUKI and got in the challenger’s face, allowing the contract to fall to the mat. Clearly with a switcheroo in mind from jump, Togo switched out the contracts out of view of the other figures in the ring before passing the fake contract to SHO.
SHO conveniently covered up the top of the contract as he and SHO both signed; it was only after the title belt was back in SHO’s possession and DOUKI left ringside that the truth was revealed. The contract read ‘NOT IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship’ with small print on the page stating ‘this will be a non title matchup’. Has DOUKI signed away a shot at the junior heavyweight gold?
