WRESTLER COMMENT
Tanahashi:
‘OK! I'm really feeling that with every match, I'm getting sharper, getting better. Singles matches are the best chance for a wrestler to sharpen their abilities, and I'm feeling pretty damn sharp. It’s muscle memory in effect. All my experience is coming back to me. I even surprised myself with how well I was able to run against YOSHI-HASHI. It's not just muscle memory, it's wrestle memory. And it feels pretty good. That's the life of a veteran..’
-- Next is Ibushi..
Tanahashi:
‘Right, but with four wins in a row, I don't think I can be stopped. The word only came to me recently, and it's a pretty nuanced thing, but I think I represent a ‘big brother’ kind of wrestling. And Ibushi is definitely a ‘kid brother’ wrestler. That's not to say one style is better than the other per de, but going through a long tour, wrestling night after night, that's the job of a ‘big brother’ wrestler. And there's not many big brothers like me left, so I have a lot of work on my plate. Sad to say, Naito’s a ‘kid brother’, too.’
-- Maybe you're less a big brother, and more like the head of the household.
Tanahashi:
‘If you say that, my cool psychological theory gets undermined! Call me a big brother. A bit of an older big brother maybe…’
