WRESTLER COMMENT

Elgin:
‘Naito, with every match I'm getting closer to that Intercontinental Title. I have some respect for you. I lost to you three times. But I will throw all sense of respect out the window to become champion. I know it, I feel it. I will be champion.’

Lee:
‘I won't ever forgive you for touching my mask. Viva Mexico. Viva Japon, Tanahashi, Taguchi, Elgin, Nakanishi. I will beat Hiromu Takahashi. Ingobernables, no’

Taguchi:
‘Taguchi Japan, hm? Marvellous, isn't it? Wasn't it? Marvellous. Nakanishi, thank you so much!’ (Shakes Nakanishi’s hand)

Nakanishi:
‘Tremendous. You looked fantastic.’ (in reference to the black makeup on Taguchi’s eyes)

Taguchi:
‘Well, you know, end of the day, I thought the lighting was going to be pretty bright today. If I use the makeup, it helped dim things, make the opposition easier to see on the pitch. There are times when the light gets in your eyes. Very effective I thought.’

Nakanishi:
‘We still didn't use “it”, but to win nonetheless is a great feeling.’

Taguchi:
‘Absolutely at the end of the day. The lads have gotten to the point that they can win without “it”.

Nakanishi:
‘I thought we’d be lost without “it” but to win without even needing “it” is amazing.’

Taguchi:
‘Well, you know, there's “it” inside all of us. Teamwork is “it”, cooperation is “it”. Until we are in a position where we use “it” we should keep concentrating on “this”’.

Nakanishi:
‘absolutely.’

Taguchi:
‘If we can hone “this” we can get to “it”. “This” is “it” you might say.’

*Tanahashi arrives late*

Tanahashi:
‘Thank you!’

Taguchi:
‘Thank you, Tanahashi!’ (Handshake)

Tanahashi:
‘In the battle of Japon versus Japan today, Taguchi Japan won. Thanks to the guidance of our coach, we’re realising our potential.’

Taguchi:
‘Well, that's what I've been saying all this time, but it's gotten through to the lads now. It's taking shape. Shape is very important. The shape part. We have to focus on our strengths. If we grow, it doesn't matter if a hole appears here or there. Strong points are our strengths. Weaknesses are also strengths. “Weaknesses become strengths”. Write that down. I gave another gem there.’

Tanahashi and Nakanishi:
‘A pearl.’

Taguchi:
‘Weaknesses are strengths. Everyone, if you have a mental block over something, look at it from the opposite point of view. Think about the number 69. Do more handstands. Your negative became a positive. Handstands. Marvellous. That's another gem. I'm a life coach as well as Taguchi Japan’s coach.’

Tanahashi:
‘Thanks coach! We’ll do our best!’

Nakanishi:
‘Our best in Osaka!’

Taguchi:
‘Let's get excited for Osaka!’

Evil:
‘Hiroshi Tanahashi, soon I will cut your puppet strings. You escaped tonight, barely. Remember next time..’

BUSHI:
‘Hey, Tanahashi, Taguchi, Nakanishi. You only have those NEVER 6 man tag belts for a few more days. In Osaka, we’re getting them back. Enserio- for real.’

Hiromu:
‘Oh, Dragon Lee- I'm so sorry. I didn't mean anything by it when I ripped your mask. Let's just decide things fair and square in Osaka. Me and Dragon Lee, we don't need words. Us two, let's show what we have to the world. There's nobody in the world that can have a more, more, more! More! MORE!! Brutal match than us. That's all. Soy campeon. Soy numero uno (I’m champion. I'm number one). (Sudden change in tone) AAAhahahahaha!! I ripped his mask!! Haha! Ripped it, you see what happens!! HAH!’

Naito:
‘Today was a match on the road to Osaka, but that doesn't mean it was a rehearsal. Today was important, tomorrow is important, the day after that will be important. The title match of course is important. But today was important. I'm disappointed I lost. Absolutely. But I saw more out of Michael Elgin. Hiiiigh spiritssss. Was he holding something back? Will he tomorrow in Tochigi, or after that in Nagano? Well, he can't speak Japanese, so all he has left to show is his body. Maybe that's not enough to sell our title match in Osaka, but everybody has to get excited to see him try to win. That's his job, the role of the challenger.
It's pretty much unheard of for a challenger to lose four times in a row in singles matches to the champion. Unprecedented. Right now, I'm 3-0 against him. One more makes four. So that's the big question- do we see a Michael Elgin that looks to be able to reverse that trend? Honestly, either way doesn't matter. Osaka wants me to win, right? Osaka is sold out because they want to cheer me in unison. Well I’m going to win and we’re going to blow the roof off the place. Everyone coming to the Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium, until Saturday, tranquilo. Assen na yo! (Take it easy). Adios!’
